How To Gain Muscle Mass…I’m Young And I Did It

Even though I’m only 18 I get asked a lot how to gain muscle mass. I gained muscle mass quickly and went from super thin to muscular in a pretty short amount of time. I didn’t get muscular overnight but I did put in the effort and my results were awesome. All it took for me to increase my size was diet and an effective workout routine. I’ll give you a sample of a routine that I did that helped me to increase my muscle mass.

Right off the bat you need to know that you have to eat the right foods if you are ever gonna gain muscle. It’s important to stop eating the junk food and drinking the soda. I’ll tell you that definitely was one of my weaknesses. It was way easier to stop at a fast food place then find something healthy to eat. Tuna fish was a great option for me.

This might be hard to do if you aren’t used to eating this way so try and spice it up for yourself. Tuna has a ton of protein but be careful because your body can only use about 35 grams of protein at any one time. Do yourself a favor and limit yourself to one can. Anything else will just be thrown down the toilet. Try to also eat 5 to 6 small meals a day instead of three large ones. Make sure to eat a good combination of protein, fats and carbohydrates. This is what you need to do at the start to increase muscle mass. Eat more than you burn but not enough to make you fat.

Increase Muscle Size
If you want to increase muscle fast you need to start lifting heavier. This is really important if you want quick muscle gains. Your goal is to increase muscle size and to do this you have to stop doing so many sets and reps.

This is what I would do to build mass if I was just starting out again.

Use the same set and rep scheme for all the following exercises. The first set that you do will be your warm up set. You have to get the blood flowing so you don’t set yourself back with a stupid injury. If you find you aren’t warmed up with just one set then do another one till you are warmed up. For the remainder of your sets make sure that the final rep is almost to failure, the point where you can’t lift the weight without help. In the beginning you will only be doing one exercise per body part. After four weeks you can begin to increase this. You will build muscle quickly by being consistent.

Set And Reps
Six Sets: Reps; 15, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6.

Monday: Barbell Bench Press
Tuesday: Bent Leg Deadlifts
Wednesday: Squats
Thursday: Military Press
Friday: Sprints

That’s it for the first four weeks. While you are following this routine you don’t need to workout your arms. Save the isolation exercises for later on, you have to build a solid foundation by working the big muscle groups first.

Don’t overtrain if you want to get ripped. Don’t make the same mistake as other lifters I see making by over training the smaller muscle groups. Just doing these basic compound exercises you will get more than enough of a workout.

You Have To Be A Natural Muscle Builder

I made a decision that my body and my insides were important enough to me that I would increase muscle size naturally. I have seen too many horrible effects of guys that have taken anabolic steroids to get big. It’s not hard to tell who these guys are, they look like a walking advertisement for steroids. They are bloated and have a very blocky appearance. These are the guys that are doing squats with 500 pounds for multiple reps. To make the most progress you have to include a good muscle building diet to compliment your natural muscle building program to maintain the gains you have made. You see, by doing it naturally you are building new muscle fiber that will not atrophy (go away) like they would if you were doing steroids and then suddenly stopped. While you are developing a lifelong healthy lifestyle you are also laying the foundation for a muscular physique. Now this will not build muscle fast relative to taking drugs but it will build a long lasting physique that is very impressive.

Increase Muscle Size Quickly
While I am natural I have also found ways to help jump start my increase in muscle mass. The program I am using no is to train each body part once a week using a four day routine. This will build muscle fast if you don’t fall victim to the over training syndrome. On Monday I will do my chest and triceps, Tuesday is back and biceps, Thursday I blast my legs and Friday it’s shoulder time. Thursday and Tuesday I will blast the abs. I am on this cycle for the ten weeks and then I will change it up. The key is consistently. If you miss a day it’s not too bad but once you break the cycle you may have to start all over again.

The only way to build muscle quickly and increase muscle size is to follow your routine as strictly as possible. You will, no doubt start seeing an increase in muscle size. Your muscles will adapt to the stress you are putting on them and stop growing if you don’t change your program periodically. We have to constantly shock and confuse the muscle to force it to grow. You can’t expect to keep doing the same routines and continue to make gains.

Steroids Kill
Natural muscle building is the way to go if you are looking to increase muscle size. Only the weak guys take steroids, let them have it. You must be strong in both mind and body to resist the temptation. Be smart and learn how to build muscle naturally.

How Can I Build Muscle Fast And Efficient?

 

You may be under the impression that in order to build muscle fast, you must exercise and train intensely as often as you can. This in fact, is the wrong way to go about building up muscle quickly. You need to ensure that your training schedule is not overloaded; in this way you will see that you build muscle fast instead of staying in a stagnant position.

If you are planning your workouts for the week, it is important that you do not overload yourself. Plan to train for three or four days out of the week – less is certainly more in this circumstance. If you try to train for five to seven days, it’s a sign your overtraining and minimizing your success rate at building up your muscles quicker.

Once you have planned your three or four day workouts, you need to be aware that you should not train for any more than an hour at a time. It can be tempting to keep going but it will have a detrimental affect on you being able to build muscle fast. Similarly, do not do any more than eight to twelve repetitions in a set. Keep it steady and controllable. If you are pushing your rep count, then make sure that you take a break from training after three weeks to give your body a chance to recover.

Recovery time is very important when it comes to being able to build muscle fast. It is actually during the recovery period that your muscles develop. If you overtrain, you are not allowing your muscles to grow and you will not see the results that you were expecting. Maintain a good balance between your training sessions and the time you need to recover.

It is also vital that you watch what you are eating when you are trying to build muscle fast. There is no point in having the same diet as you did before you started training. The body needs extra nutrients and protein to be efficient at building up your muscle groups. Eating five or six smaller meals throughout the day is recommended, instead of the larger three meals per day that you may be used to. Make sure each smaller meal is rich in foods that contain protein such as chicken breast and eggs. Be certain to have some carbohydrates macronutrients and “good fats” in your diet each day.

You can also take healthy supplements to boost protein levels. Whey powder and meal replacement powders are available, which would count as one of your five or six meals. There are many available on the market and it is recommended that you read buyer’s reviews to find out which ones are the best. You can have a protein shake as a meal; many people have one after a workout to help their body revitalise itself.

Believe it or not, the amount of sleep that you get each night can also have an effect in you being able to build muscle fast. If you do not get an adequate amount of sleep then this can mean that your energy levels are too low. When you then do a workout, it will not be as effective as it could have been. It varies from person to person but the recommended amount of sleep you should get each night is eight hours. If you are serious about training and building your muscle mass quickly, then it is important to make sure that you get the right amount of sleep.
